On Friday evening for Manchester United’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Middlesbrough at Old Trafford, Cristiano Ronaldo was back in action. It was just one day from his 37th birthday and he enjoyed an eventful first 20 minutes in the game. Ronaldo almost scored in the 7th minute when he made good connection with Luke Shaw’s cross while his acrobatic effort was saved by Joe Lumley. However, CR7 missed a penalty in the first half.
In 20th minutes, Paul Pogba was felled inside the box and won a penalty for United. CR7 took the responsibility and placed the ball down on the spot. But he inexplicably dragged his effort from 12 yards wide. This was 29th penalty missed by CR7 over his whole career. Mancheser United was knocked out by Middlesbrough.
