Ramón Planes, technical secretary of Barça asked to leave

Barcelona is immersed in a great renovation process that is affecting all pitches. To the variations in the coaching staff and in the medical services, changes in the Sports Directorate will now be added: Ramón Planes, technical secretary, has asked to leave the culé institution.
Planes took office in 2018, with Josep Maria Bartomeu, but Joan Laporta renewed him as soon as he became president for two more seasons. The technical secretary has, therefore, a contract until June 2022. The executive has been the one who has asked the club to leave him, since he considers that the time has come to face other professional projects.
Among the many achievements that he has had at the Camp Nou stand out the signing of Pedri or Araujo or the commitment to some young people, such as Gavi.
Joan Laporta, Rafa Yuste, sports vice president, and Mateu Alemany, football director, welcomed Ramón Planes’ request with surprise. The club is very satisfied with his work.
Planes has extensive experience in the sports area. Before signing for Barcelona, the technical secretary worked at Espanyol, Getafe, Lleida, Racing de Santander, Tottenham, Alavés …
The Barça must now look for a relief to him. Puyol, Overmars or Zorc are just some of the names of his possible successors.
