Tottenham sacks Nuno

Tottenham sacks Nuno

Tottenham has just made official the dismissal of Nuno Espírito Santo, as well as that of his coaching staff. The defeat last Saturday against an evicted Manchester United 3-0, at home, has been the last straw for the president of the London team.
“Nuno is a true gentleman and he will always be welcome here. We want to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them the best for the future. I know how much they wanted to succeed and I regret that we had to make this decision,” said Fabio Paratici, General Director of the Tottenham.
The team did not finish carbureting, which has been reflected in the results. Eighth in the league, 10 points behind the leader, their numbers leave much to be desired after the first 10 games, nine goals in favor and 16 against. And that they started very well, with a victory against Manchester City in their league debut without their top star, Harry Kane.
Tottenham is also leaving us a very discreet performance in its passage through the new Conference League. They almost fell in the previous round of the group stage at the hands of Paços de Ferreira, but they managed to overcome a 1-0 defeat in Portugal. However, in the three meetings of the group stage they have only been able to beat, by a landslide of course, the modest Slovenian Mura. Currently, it would not even pass this phase, since it is located in the third position.
The only positive news is leaving him in the EFL Cup. He has been able to overcome two rounds, after eliminating Wolves, his former team, and Burnley on the road. However, since Nuno arrived at the club in summer, his balance has not been anything positive: 17 games played, nine wins, one draw and seven defeats.
Conte imminent arrival at Tottenham
The Italian coach is free and is the top favorite to take over the position left by Nuno. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Conte could be in London today to close the deal. His last experience has been at the helm of Inter, a team that he made champions of Serie A last season, dethroning Juventus, who had gotten us used to seeing him lift the title.
