Despite being 36 years of age, Luka Modric, the winner of Ballon d’Or in 2018, strill remain a key part of of Real Madrid‘s core trident, along with Toni Kroos and Casemiro. Although his contract expiring on June 30, Modric has already racked up 37 appearances across all competitions this seaon. Real Madrid is willing to renew with the Croatian international.

When will Luka Modric retire?

Luka Modric will turn 37 years old this year while he has the head and the body of a young footballer in his prime. He has not yet decide to retire. Speaking at the launch of the ‘Sportening’ app, Modric said,”I don’t know when I’ll keep playing until, maybe about 40, we’ll see. I have to take it step-by-step, enjoy what I’m doing. I feel good physically, which is important, mentally as well. I’m at a huge club, the best club in the world without a doubt, and I’m working hard to keep my level as high as possible.” Modric also expressed the desire to retire at Santiago Bernabéu.
