Why is Spanish Super Cup being played in Saudi Arabia? Due to a 10-year deal

The 38th edition of the Supercopa de Espana, also known as Spanish Super Cup is taking place in Saudi Arabia, featuring the previous season’s Copa del Rey finalists along with the sides that finished first and second in the Spanish top flight. It is the second time that Saudi Arabia hold this competition.

Why is Spanish Super Cup being played in Saudi Arabia?

Based on the deal between Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Saudi Arabia, Spanish Super Cup will be held in the Kingdom until 2029. It will brought about €320 million to REFE.
2020 edition took place in Saudi while the following was played in Spain due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Despite ongoing issues with the virus, Saudi still held the competition in this season. On wednesday, the first of two semi-finals, Barcelona against Real Madrid was the first official El Clasico host outside Spain.
