Wijnaldum: Not Completely Happy at PSG

In the summer, Georginio Wijnaldum transferred from Liverpool to Paris Saint-Germain as free agent. The Dutchman played a key role in the Reds’ run to Champions League and Premier League glory under Jurgen Klopp, while struggling at Parc des Princes at the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
Before the World Cup qualifying clash with Gibraltar, Wijnaldum has opened up on his frustrations: “I cannot say I am completely happy at PSG. Ths situation is not what I wanted. I have played a lot in recent years, also did very well. There is something diffent, taking time to getting used to.  I am always looking forward to the new step and happen. It is very difficult. This is foot ball and I have to learn to how to deal with it. I’m a fighter, having to stay positive and work hard to turn it around.”
Wijnaldum has made 11 appearances in all competitions for PSG, but has yet to record a single goal or assist.  The 30-year-old Dutchman has only started one of the club’s last five Ligue 1 matches.
